Frank L. "Duke" Case Jr., 82 of Copake, NY passed away on Saturday March 6, 2010 at Hawthorne Ridge in East Greenbush, NY.

He was born on March 24, 1927 in White Plains, NY the son of Frank L. and Mabel (Watkins) Case Sr.

Mr. Case was a fifty year resident of Copake previously residing in White Plains where he was employed as a paid firefighter. Upon moving locally he was the owner of Case Plumbing & Heating until his retirement.

He was a United States Navy veteran serving his country from 1944 - 1946 and was a longtime member of the Closson - Raught American Legion Post #1160 in Copake Falls, NY.

Active in his community Frank was a former Boy Scout leader, a member of the Copake United Methodist Church and took great personal satisfaction in maintaining the flower beds at the village circle where the Copake Memorial Clock is located. He enjoyed making his maple syrup, was an avid square dancer and formed the "Titan Teen" Dance Club.

He was pre - deceased by his wife Regina H. (Johnson) Case in 1983 along with four sisters.

Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Katherine and Tait Wheeler of Hillsdale and Carol and Robert Rhoton of Amarillo, TX; a son and daughter in law, Paul and Chillys Case of Glade Spring, VA. He also leaves four grandchildren, Gregory Wheeler, Lynn Wheeler, Douglas Wheeler and Jonathan Coons and his wife Audrey along with a great grandson, Keir Coons. Additionally he leaves his companion Alice Belt of Copake and her children, Linda Burnier, Leslie Parsenios and Brian Belt along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited and may call on Wednesday March 10, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake.

Funeral services will be offered on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Copake United Methodist, Church St. in Copake.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Copake Cemetery.
