Eva Faith (Nicholson) Curtin passed away on February 26, 2025, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Eva was born in Great Barrington, MA, on December 30, 1938, to Donald Nicholson and Emily (Chase) Nicholson. Eva grew up in Hillsdale, New York, and attended Roeliff Jansen High School. She went on to study at the Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA, becoming a Registered Nurse on October 18, 1960.
Eva married Leo F. Curtin in 1963, and they raised their two daughters Faith and Leah in Lanesborough, MA. She worked at Pittsfield General Hospital (now Berkshire Medical Center), eventually becoming head of the Intravenous (I.V.) Nursing department at that hospital. Eva’s skill and talent as an I.V. nurse, coupled with a passion for helping and caring for others, paved the way for a lifetime career in the field of infusion therapy. Harnessing these qualities and her entrepreneurial spirit, Eva opened Infusion Plus, Inc. in 1990, providing I.V. services in the home.
Infusion Plus, Inc. grew beyond all expectations. Eva attributed the success of her company to her philosophy of promoting holistic patient care, by bringing patients and family members together in understanding the treatment involved. She was an advocate for education in the field of infusion therapies, and was recognized as a leading expert; she was regularly called upon to teach at local VNAs (Visiting Nurses Association), long-term care facilities, and hospitals. In 1999, Eva added a division named High Tech Nursing Services based in Berlin, CT, contracting with both local and national pharmacies to serve over 200 long-term care facilities in Connecticut. This firm eventually became PICC Performance, LLC. Eva was President and CEO of both companies, and retired from Infusion Plus, Inc. in 2023, and PICC Performance in 2024.
Eva is survived by her brothers, Roger and Rexford Nicholson, her daughters Faith Curtin Koch and Leah Zweig, and her granddaughters Ashley Zweig and Alexandria Zweig. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand- and double-grand nieces and nephews. She is remembered by all with great respect and love.
