Euarda Flinn

Euarda “Peggy” Laura Flinn, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on November 25, 2023. She was born on May 2, 1931 to the late Violet and Ward Withers at Vassar Hospital. In 1948, she graduated from Pine Plains School and on October 1, 1950 she married Darwin Flinn.

Euarda worked at the Cold Spring School as the head of the cafeteria and then for many years as the head teller for Stissing Bank in Stanfordville. She enjoyed crocheting, country music and dancing. An avid reader who enjoyed many books at her home that she loved so much. Peggy loved her family and enjoyed being a grandmother and was the definition of a great grandmother. She also enjoyed dining out locally with her husband.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Darwin. Her two devoted sons; Darwin Jr. (Donna) of South Carolina and Mark (Gigi) of Stanfordville. Her four loving grandchildren, Jessica, Steven, Mark Jr., and Tyler. Five great grandchildren, Robert, Avalyn, Grant, Nash & Bence. Her sister, Shirley Jenks, of Dover.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St. Pine Plains, NY.  Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Stanford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to the Stanford Free Library, 6035 Route 82, Stanfordville, NY  12581.
