Ernest W. Viebrock, 84, of Ancramdale, passed away suddenly at Albany Medical Center on March 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 20, 1941 in Yonkers, the son of Henry and Hermine (Unfried) Viebrock. After graduating from high school and college, he entered the United States Army and served during Vietnam. On December 29, 1963, at Holy Cross Church in the Bronx, he married Ann Piacquadio. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage.

Ernie went to work for New York Telephone in White Plains as a Network Manager. Throughout the many mergers and consolidations, he was able to retire at 54. Afterwards, he and Ann traveled extensively. They visited every national park, Hawaii, Italy, Germany and Alaska, just to name a few places.

He loved his grandchildren and was a very proud grandfather. Ernie & Ann traveled to most of the grandchildren’s sporting games or other events. Whether it was to sit in blazing hot heat with water, or the freezing cold with snacks they were always on the sidelines.

Ernie was a skilled worker, who could fix just about anything. He took pleasure in working on cars and even fully restored a 1956 Ford Fairlane. His hands were never idle, including right up to changing the oil the morning of his accident. He was an avid New York Yankees fan first and foremost. He also loved fishing, playing cards, and in his younger years bowling. He and Ann were always on the go. Whether it was to get coffee someplace or trips to Hudson for the gym. He was an amazing cook and grill master. He honed his craft while working as a cook at the Mountain Top Deli in Stormville. Many would say he made an amazing eggplant parmesan for a German. Most of all, he will be remembered for his gentle nature and unconditional love.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Ann and their children, Regina (and Tom) McCoy and Robert (and Kathleen) Viebrock. A loving Poopa to his seven grandchildren, Jessica (J.P.), Meagan (Casey), Christopher (and his fiancee Kayla), Hayley, Ava, Derek and Sean and his one great grandchild, Aidan, and one more on the way. In addition, he had several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his two brothers, John and Ronny Viebrock.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake, New York.
