Clinton Corners, NY - Ernest Jennings Jr. 81, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Vassar Brother's Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He was born on August 29, 1929 in Nathalie, VA the son of the late Ernest and Emma (Uwell) Jennings Sr.
Mr. Jennings worked for the Lone Star Construction Company in Wappingers, NY.
He was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church in Hyde Park, NY. He sang in the Choir. He also volunteered at Vassar Brother's Hospital for over fifteen years.
He served as Corporal with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
On November 17, 1962 in Riverdale, NJ he married Jacquelyn (Lee) Jennings. She survives him at home.
In addition to his loving wife survivors include two daughters, Hope Jennings and Jada Jennings both of Clinton Corners, NY; a sister, Ella Lambert of Danville, VA; three brothers, Haywood Jennings of Lynchburg, VA; Ray Jennings of Danville, VA; Madison Jennings of Warick, NY.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home South Main St. Pine Plains, NY.
Funeral services 11 am Wednesday, September 22, from St. James Episcopal Church in Hyde Park, NY with Fr. Chuck Kramer, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Stanford Cemetery.
