Clinton Corners, NY - Eric E. Haight, 74, passed away on Monday June 13, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY after a short illness.
He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on March 29, 1937 the son of the late Paul and Thelma (Coffin) Haight.
He was a member of the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club, Sharon Audubon, and the Stanford Historical Society. Former member of Stanford Fire Company.
He enjoyed hiking, walking the Rail Trail, bird watching and was avid Red Sox's Fan.
Mr. Haight coached the Stanford Twins Little League Team.
Most of all he was kind and loving man and put everyone else first.
He worked for IBM as a Technician in East Fishkill, NY. After retirement he and his brother had a lawn mowing service for severely years in Stanfordville.
Survivors include a loving companion, Diane Eaton of Clinton Corners, NY; a son, Matthew Haight and his companion Trish Taylor of Sherman Oaks, CA; brother-in-law, Oliver Orton, four nephews, Christopher, Thomas, Irving Paul Haight Jr., and Ryan; two nieces, Catherine and Allison.
He was predeceased by a brother, Irving P. Haight Sr.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 18, at the United Church of Christ with Pastor Rhoda Starzyk, officiating.
A reception will follow at the Fellowship Hall.
Interment will be private.
