Ancram, NY - Emma Lau, 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 17th at Royal Megansett Nursing Home in North Falmouth, MA.
She was born in Camden NJ on August l0th 1918, daughter of Frederick Shienle and Mary Bacon Shienle.
Emma received her RN with the first class of nursing students at Grasslands (now Westchester Medical Center) and worked as a private duty and industrial nurse during the war.
She married Charles Lau in l942.
Emma worked for the Pelham Visiting Nurse Assn and as Director of Nurses at Brandywine Nursing Home in Briarcliff until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Coward (William) of Ancram and Janet Kluever (Rolf) of E. Falmouth, MA as well as granddaughters Anne Harrison of
Austerlitz, Lorelei (Bryce) Dooley of Boston and grandson Kurt Kluever (Amy) of Hoboken, NJ and her great granddaughter Sarah Harrison of Austerlitz.
She was predeceased by her husband "Al" and her sister Mary.
Services will private and at the convenience of the family.
