Ellwood Jessie Hoyt

Ellwood "Woody" Jessie Hoyt, 88, of Ancram, NY died Friday December, 11, 2015 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born December 8, 1927 to Henry and Annie Tompkins Hoyt. He was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1957.

On Aug. 18, 1981, he married Katherine Brown of Lee, MA.

He retired from Kimberly Clark-Ancram divison in 1985 after 30 years.

He was a member of VFW Post 7955, Copake.

Woody was a 71-year active volunteer with the Ancram Fire Company.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three children, Judith (Tom) Welch, James D. Hoyt and Nancy (George) Quinlan; a brother, Malcolm (Annie) Hoyt; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January2, 2016 at 12:00 PM at the Ancram Fire House.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Ancram Fire Company, Ancram, NY 12502.
