Copake, NY - Eleanor C. Germain (nee Striffler) passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY.

She was born on January 6, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY as the youngest daughter of John & Eleanor (McKeon) Striffler.

She worked in many places over the years, but her volunteer work was most important to her. She volunteered with the PTA's for her children, as a girl scout troop leader, she was president of the homemaker's association on Long Island, treasurer of the Friends of the Library for the Roeliff Jansen Community Library, decorated chocolate bars for the library to sell, in addition to many more.

On March 26, 1977 she married her husband James Germain in Brooklyn, NY. In the summer of 2004 they left Long Island and moved to Copake, NY.

She is survived by her husband Jim; daughter Nicole & son-in-law Vyn; son Matthew and daughter-in-law Laura; her grandchildren Julia, Kaylee & Margaret; her brother Hugh, sister Jackie and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22 in Copake, NY on Thursday, December 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 Route 22 in Copake, NY on Friday, December 9 at 10AM.

The burial will follow the mass at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 2pm.
