Eleanor L. Cahill

Pine Plains, NY - Eleanor L. Cahill, 79, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.

She was born in Canaan, CT on February 4, 1935 the daughter of Joel Carpenter Sr. and Marguerite (Speed) Richter.

Mrs. Cahill retired from Sharon Hospital after working over thirty years in various positions. Most recently she worked for Dr. Charles S. Mirabile Jr. in Sharon.

On April 14, 1953 in Salisbury, CT she married Bill J. Cahill. He survives her at home.

In addition to her loving husband Bill, survivors include three daughters, Deborah Robertson and her husband John of Timberlake, NC; Sharon Nihill and her husband Ron of Naugatuck, CT; Teresa Cummings and her husband Rich of Pine Plains, NY; two sons, Jerry Cahill of Pine Plains, NY; Mike Cahill and his wife Celita of Jacksonville, FL; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn McLane of Port Orange, FL; Lila Cahill of Bristol, CT; Connie Hess of Poughkeepsie, NY.

She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Carpenter and a brother, Joel Carpenter Jr.

There are no calling hours.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 29, at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, NY 12567. A Reception will follow at the Pine Plains Lions Club.
