Elaine J. Slater

Elaine J. "Nana" Slater, 74 of Ancram, NY passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on August 27, 1937 in Montville, NJ a daughter of Henry G. and Frances A. (Werner) Burghardt.

She had previously been employed by Taconic Orchards.

A lover of animals, Elaine was well known locally for raising and nurturing many local children throughout her lifetime. She is loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Frederick M. Slater of Ancram; a daughter, Wanda Anderson of Stuyvesant; grandaughter Andrea Dunn of Germantown and her great grandchild, Adrianna Dunn. She also leaves her canine companion, Peanut.

A Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 28, 2012 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Ancram Firehouse to which family and friends are invited.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial offerings may be made to Elaine's family for distribution to her favorite causes.
