Edward Peterson

Edward Peterson, 80 of Taconic Shores in Copake, NY passed away on Monday September 9, 2013 in Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY.

He was born on October 23, 1932 in Yonkers, NY a son of the late Carl and Anna (Carlson) Peterson.

Along with his wife Jane, the Peterson's had owned their home in Copake since 1978 and moved here permanently in 1989 from Port Chester, NY. He and his wife also spent winters in Deerfield Beach, FL for 16 years.

Edward proudly served his country with the United States Army from 1956 - 1958.

He was the co-owner and operator along with his brother Stanley Peterson of Imperial Kitchens located in New Rochelle, NY.

He and his wife were avid travelers in Europe, especially in Sweden wher he lived for three years, and throughout the United States. A "jack of all trades" he was a skilled builder, electrician and plumber amongst many different vocations. Ed also enjoyed a great game of Pinochle with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Jane (Mazurkiewich) Peterson of Copake; his sons, Kenneth Peterson of Cornelius, NC and William Peterson of Weatherford, TX and his grandchildren, Karl, Keith, Connor and Jessica. He also leaves his siblings, Robert Peterson of Yonkers, NY, Stanley Peterson of Putnam Valley NY and Anna Towers of Mahopac, NY. along with many nieces and nephews.

He was pre deceased by his brothers Fred, Carl and Arne and his sisters, IngaBrit and Esther.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY. The Rev. George Brennan of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Copake Falls will officiate.

Friends are invited and may call also on Saturday from 11 - 2 at the funeral home.

Private interment will be in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Copake Falls, NY
