Gallatin, NY - Edith Gallo, 57, passed away on April 27, 2016.
Friends, loved ones and family -
It is an honor and privilege for me to pay tribute to a very special person, the love of my life Edie.
Edie was remarkable in so many ways. She lived her life to the fullest and touched so many people during her time here with us.
As I began to reach out for the right words to express my thoughts about my soulmate and my best friend, I remembered the many valued and meaningful roles that Edie played throughout her life.
I see Edie - the friend. She worked in Valley Cleaners in Pleasant Valley, New York for over 20 year where she touched many lives. She was a good friend to so many! She could be counted on and depended on always. Whether you needed simple advice, an empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on; companionable silence, a listener if you will; if all you wanted was to pass the time telling stories, talking about politics or hearing great jokes - she was your woman; kind, ready, steadfast, willing and good fun.
She leaves the love of her life, David Vorndran; their dogs Mika and Lakota as well as her beloved little cat Bella. She leaves behind two daughters: Nicole Brians, her husband Rob and Melinda Gallo, as well as four grand-children: Aiden, Riley, Taylor and Dylan.
I know that many family members and friends will miss the friendship and presence that Edie brought into our lives. I'm sure you all will remember her in your very own special way.
I think that we all have a funny story or two or ten for that matter - which we can share about Edie and that, is what will keep her alive in our hearts. While I am going to miss her terribly, I will always remember the great times we had together.
Edie, my love, it is very hard to say goodbye so we will just say so-long. The pages of your book will never be closed.
We will remember you through the many people still left behind whose lives you touched so positively.
Edie, we will miss you, but we will always remember you with respect, admiration, laughter, love. Give our parents and Brandy a Big Hug from Everyone. Until we meet again, I love You. Your soulmate, David.
