Edith H, Froggatt, Mountain View Street, Copake Falls, passed away at her home, in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 1st, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manhattan on January 15th, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William and Jane Hunter. She is predeceased by 8 siblings and her beloved husband, Frank.
Edith spent each childhood summer in Copake Falls, and resided here permanently for the last 40 years. Edith was deeply committed to the organizations to which she proudly belonged: She was a long time member of the Eastern Stars, the Roe Jan Young at Hearters, the Episcopal Church Women of Saint John in the Wilderness, the Copake Fire Auxiliary, the Copake Grange and the Copake Republican Club.
Edith leaves behind her loving family, daughters Jane Holdridge, and Barbara (Jim) Adams, Grandchildren Jeremy (Abby) Holdridge, Sarah (Matt) DeFrias, Jamie (Kyla) Dykeman Ethan Holdridge and Tammy LaSusa and Great Grandchildren Haley, Bradley, Riley, Bryce, Matthew, Samantha, Carter, Rory and Dax. And many nieces and nephews.
Edith was baker of the best banana bread, wizard with a knitting needle and yarn, a deeply caring soul, with a witty sense of humor and a million-dollar smile. She was known for all these things and so much more. We'll be loving you - "Always"
Calling hours will be at Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake Falls, on Sunday September 4, 2016 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM
Funeral services will be held at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness on Monday September 5, 2016 at 11 AM.
Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of Saint John in the Wilderness Episcopal, the Shriners Hospital in Springfield MA, or The Community Hospice of Columbia / Greene, 47 Liberty St. Catskill NY 12414.
