Dorothy M. Thurst

Elizaville, NY - Dorothy M. Thurst, 94, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at The Baptist Home At Brookmeade in Rhinebeck, NY.

She was born on August 10, 1915 in Boltonville, VT the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Slye) Abbott.

Mrs. Thurst was the Pine Plains Veterinary Hospital secretary for over twenty five years. She was a member of the American Legion.

On September 7, 1935 in Pine Plains, NY she married Webster M. Thurst. He predeceased her on October 4, 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Harrison of Staatsburg, NY; Virginia Popp of Elizaville, NY; five grandchildren, Mona Leone and Deana Runza of Hyde Park, NY, Lisa Nicolich and Fred J. Popp IV of Elizaville, NY, and Jeff Popp of Milan, NY; six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Thurst was predeceased by five brothers, Gary, Russell, Wayne, Wilson and Milton Abbott.

Calling hours are 1 to 3 pm on Monday, June 28, at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home South Main St. Pine Plains, NY.

Funeral services are 3 pm on Monday, June 28 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery Pine Plains, NY.
