Doris A. Westfall

Ancramdale, NY - Doris A. Westfall, 68, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canaan, CT.

She was born in Gt. Barrington, MA on October 17, 1942 the daughter of the late William and Dora (Shook) Smith Sr. Doris was the Ancram Tax Collector from 1978 to 1987. She was a seamstress and passed member of the Tri - Mountain Square Dancers.

She loved cats, her garden and enjoyed her crafts. She also had a CB Radio her handle name was square dance. For many nights she kept the truckers awake at night.

Survivors include her three sons, B. Douglas Westfall Jr. and his wife Judy of Millerton, NY; John Westfall and his wife Sandy of Copake Falls, NY; Richard Westfall of Ancramdale, NY; a sister, Susan Roeger of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Rev. Andrew Smith of Philmont, NY; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, B. Douglas Westfall Sr. in 1977, a brother, William Smith Jr. and a sister Elizabeth Schroeder.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, October 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Millerton with Rev. Nancy Thornton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery Pine Plains.
