Dorathy E. Wheeler

Dorathy E. Wheeler,  lifelong Pine Plains resident passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023 at her residence. She was born on January 31, 1925 to the late Harry B. Wheeler Sr. and Florence E. Turbarg. She graduated from Pine Plains Central School in 1943. Dorathy was a civilian federal employee who worked as an administrative assistant for the United States Air Force, before becoming a claim representative for the Social Security Administration.Where she retired from, after 30 plus years of service. She was a long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and spent many years volunteering caring for the sick and elderly.

Dorathy is survived by her sisters, Helen Borzansky, Louise Palmer, Carol Boice and Florence Ahlbach. In addition to her devoted care givers, Debbie Knapp, Melissa Wagoner, Mary Shook and Jessica Bilski.

She is predeceased by her brothers Richard Wheeler, Harry Wheeler Jr., and her sister, Anges Kling.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 1:00pm from Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main St., Pine Plains, NY 12567. Family will receive friends beginning at 11:00am Thursday morning also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
