Donna L. Smith

Milan, NY - Donna L. Smith, 69, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Northern Duchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, NY.

She was born on October 29, 1946 in Rhinebeck, NY, the daughter of Oscar G. and Minnie E. (Cuomo) Wendover.

Mrs. Smith was an avid baker, loved babies, flowers and owls. She would call her siblings every day and gather every Sunday for lunch with her children.

She made numerus contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.

On May 22, 1965 in Milan, NY she married Gordon L. Smith Sr. He survivors her at home.

In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Latendorf of Stanfordville, NY; Kelly Matthews of Milan, NY; Dina Connolly of Rhinebeck, NY; a son, Gordon L. Smith Jr. of Red Hook, NY; twelve grandchildren and one great grandson. five sisters, Gladys Williams of Millbrook, NY; Rose Coon of Rhinebeck, NY; Minnie Wooden of Milan, NY; Margaret Coons of Milan, NY; Catherine Wendover of Milan, NY; two brothers, George Wendover of Milan, NY; and Oscar Wendover of Milan, NY; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Alice Van Echaute, Annie Brizzie and Madeline G. Burton and also three brothers, Donald, Peter and Joseph Wendover.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2015 at Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, NY 12567.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2015 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Stanford Cemetery in Stanfordville, NY.
