Denise F. Hamm

Denise (Sis) Hamm, of Ancram, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. She was born June 29, 1936 in Bronx, New York, to Frank and Helen (Hofler) Jones. Sis graduated in 1954 from Saint Helena’s High School and went to work for the phone company. She married Kenneth Hamm on August 25, 1957 and moved to Ancram New York. Where she was a member of the Ancram Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and also helped with the events at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

When her children were older, she took a job driving school bus for Taconic Hills Central School District, she also worked for private contractors like Donald Klein and Michael Johnston. She spent many years working in the Taconic Hills administration office as well as doing bookkeeping for the town of Ancram and serving a brief term is tax collector for the town of Gallatin

Sis is survived by two children Kenneth (Matthew) and Mary Pepoon, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her two sisters, Patricia Sposato of Tacoma, Washington and Maureen Bike of Tucson, Arizona. A close family friend, James (Paula) Smith of Jamesberg, New Jersey.

 A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake. A Memorial Mass will be held on March 20, 2025 at 10:00am from Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson.
