Cynthia E. Westfall

February 23, 1945 — August 21, 2017

Copake, NY – Cynthia E. Westfall, 72, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at home.

She was born on February 23, 1945 in Rhinebeck, NY the daughter of Marion E. (Clum) Westfall and the late Benjamin Westfall.

In addition to her mother Marion, survivors include three brothers, Sherwood, Wayne and Martin Westfall and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas and Raymond Westfall.

A brave and beautiful soul has been lost.  All who knew Cindy have been blessed.  Touching many people with her talents and special personality got her through each day while living with a lengthy debilitating disease.  Her nature was to pass her love on to others through the years in whatever way she could.  Mostly, she did so using her wonderful sense of humor and her great faith in humankind.

As a young woman Cindy enjoyed outdoor activities such as racing snowmobiles and riding motorcycles.  While she was able, she did lawn mowing in the immediate area. Animals also had a special place in her heart.  She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. Copake was home to Cindy.  She could be seen on many occasions riding her motorized wheelchair up and down Route 22 or in later years into Copake from Lincoln Rd. Stubborn, outgoing and independent to her last days, country music could often be heard entering her home where her smiles and hearty laughter could always brighten your day.  She treasured old photographs and hand-made items. She loved “catching up” with family and friends during family reunions as well as other visits and calls.  Even with her debilitating disease, she always looked forward to the next day and had a great passion for life.  She wanted nothing more than to teach us all to do the same!

“The circle is unbroken. There is a better home, Lord…in the sky.” Thanks, Cindy, for your part in the circle!

There will be no calling hours.
