Cory C. Coumbes

LCpL Cory C. Coumbes, 24, United States Marine Corps, died suddenly on Saturday April 12, 2014 in California.

He was born on June 7, 1989 the son of Janet Marie (Sutton) Stallman of Craryville, NY.

Cory grew up in Columbia County, attended Pine Plains Central Schools and graduated from Kingston High School.

Lance Corporal Coumbes had just returned from duty in Afghanistan. He had previously served in Cuba and Egypt and was to have been released from active duty this May after five years of service. Cory was a dedicated Marine who often helped others during trying times.

Cory had a great love for his family, friends and fellow Marines. He enjoyed all types of sports, fishing and especially paintball.

He is survived by his mother, Janet Marie Stallman of Craryville, NY; sister and brother in law, Sabrina Marie and Michael Conn and nephew and niece, Anthony Michael Conn and McKenzie Conn all of Craryville. He also leave his infant son, Gabriel Michael Coumbes and the mother of his child, Sarita Huebsch. In addition he leaves a special aunt, Margie Rothvoss of Ancramdale, NY along with seven other aunts, one uncle and numerous cousins.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday April 24, 2014 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY. (518) 329 - 2121

Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held also on Thursday at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Jacqueline Jefferson officiating.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
