Cora Lorraine Davis

Cora Lorraine Davis, 84 of Copake, NY passed away on Monday March 20, 2017 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon, CT.

She was born in Ancram, NY on August 21, 1932 the oldest of 12 children to Neils N. and Alice M. (Frenzel) Hoyt.

A stay at home mom, she attended Columbia Greene Community College after the death of her husband 1980 and graduated with high honors.

She later worked for the Register-Star in Hudson and the United States Postal Service in Pine Plains delivering the mail.

Cora loved gardening but most of all, spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Joseph Roger Davis of Copake and Emily Susan Davis of Ashley Falls, MA. In addition she leaves her siblings, Norma J. Chorney of Ancram, Patricia A. Hoyt of Lakeville, CT, Lara Kim Bloodgood of Pine Plains, NY, William L. Hoyt of Copake, Robert A. Hoyt of Chatham, Richard W. Hoyt of Ancramdale, Kermit H. Hoyt of Ancram, Neils N. Hoyt Jr. of Hurley, NY, Harold A. Hoyt of Sharon, CT and Joseph R. Hoyt Sr. of Ancramdale along with several nieces and nephews.

She was pre deceased by her husband Joseph Davis on April 26, 1980, a daughter Vera Ann Davis and a sister, Augusta L. Wheeler.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday March 23, 2017 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.

Funeral services will follow on Friday March 24, 2017 at 11 AM at the funeral home with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Spring interment will be in the West Taghkanic Cemetery.
