Clotilde "Cloey" Elmendorf, 74 passed away peacefully on Thursday May 29, 2014 at her home in Craryville, NY surrounded by loved ones.

A 20 year local resident, she was born on August 23, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY to Walt and Florence "Fawny" Doyle.

Tilly as she was known by came from a large family of 8 siblings that were raised in Staatsburg, NY.

On December 15, 1956 she married George W. Elmendorf. "A young man from the wrong side of the tracks". Her beloved Georgie pre deceased her in 1994.

Cloey was the former operator of the Chatham Auction in the late 1970's. She later owned a diner, Clo's Place in Livingston during the 1980's. The job she cherished most was being a farmer's wife, mother and friend.

Tilly enjoyed life, family, friends and a libation or two. She would often call you squirrel when she would disagree with you, because you were nuts!

She is survived by her children, Clinton Jett Elmendorf of Newburgh, Kimberly Hatch (Espen) of Bradenton, FL, Dain Elmendorf (Kathy) of Crayville, Cody Elmendorf (Denise) of Catskill and Tonya Elmendorf of Craryville. She was pre deceased by a daughter, Darlene Elmendorf. Nana was the loving grandmother to 8, Jennifer, Ryan, Troy, Jessie, Logan, Amanda, Dalton and her little big man, David. She also leaves her great grandchildren Tyler and Isabella and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited and may call on Monday June 2, 2014 from 11 - 1 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.

Services will begin at 1 PM also at the funeral home with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Interment will follow in the West Taghkanic Cemetery.

A heartfelt thank you from the family to Dain and Kathy for the care, love and respect that you gave to our beloved Tilly in her final years.

In lieu of charitable contributions kindly hold your loved ones a little closer and count your blessings. Tilly would have liked that.
