Ancramdale, NY - Clifford "Red" Boyles Sr. 87, a life-long resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
He was born on August 9, 1929 in Ancramdale, NY the son of the late Charles and Abbie (Brizzie) Boyles Sr.
Red was an electrician at the Kimberly-Clark Paper Mill in Ancram, NY. He retired in 1989.
He was a lifelong member of the Ancram Fire Company.
On May 15, 1949 at First United Presbyterian Church in Pine Plains, NY he married Violet (Miller) Boyles. She predeceased him on April 27, 2011.
Survivors include a daughter, Cindy and her husband Larry Hoage of Lakeville, CT; a son, Clifford and his wife, Helen Boyles Jr. of Millerton, NY; two grandchildren, Russell and his wife Lisa Hoage and Samantha Boyles; a great granddaughter, Kirstyn Hoage; a sister, Irene Dietter of Ancramdale, NY; a brother, Harold "Hezzie" Boyles of Ancramdale, NY; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Eleanor Cookingham, Susan Dietter and Gladys Millius; and five brothers, Russell "Bus", William, Henry "Pete", Charles "June", and Robert Boyles.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains, NY with Pastor Carol Miller officiating.
A reception will follow at the Ancram Fire Company.
