Chad Michael Malarchuk

Chad Michael Malarchuk, 46 of Hillsdale, NY passed away suddenly on Sunday January 28, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY.

He was born on August 18, 1971 in Rhinebeck, NY the son of Alexander (Mike) and Pamela J. (Roche) Malarchuk of Millerton, NY.

Chad was a hairdresser for 29 years in Millerton, NY and for the past 13 years owned Chad’s Hair Studio. He was also enrolled at Hudson Valley Community College in the Mortuary Science Department. He was scheduled to graduate in May of this year.

He served as a volunteer firefighter for the past 15 years with the Hillsdale Fire Company #1.

Chad was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram, NY and served as a council member for several years.

On October 13, 2012 he married Richard H. Briggs in Hillsdale, NY. Richard survives him at home in Hillsdale.

Besides his husband and parents he leaves a step son Bradley Briggs and a step grandson, Deyton of Valatie, NY. Chad also leaves his siblings and their spouse, Andrea and James MacArthur of Millerton, NY and Joshua and Lyndi Malarchuk and their children Zachary and Dominic of Wake Forest, NC. Also his paternal grandmother, Jeanette (Filipini) Malarchuk of Millerton, NY along with a large extended family to include aunts, uncles, cousins and in laws.

Friends are invited and may call on Thursday February 1, 2018 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 2, 2018 at 11 AM from St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1273 County Route 7 in Ancram, NY with Vicar Jackie Jefferson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hillsdale Rural Cemetery, Hillsdale NY.
