Hudson, NY – Cecil B. E. Dykeman Jr. 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY.
He was born on June 24, 1931 in Milan, NY the son of Cecil B. and Anna M. (Coon) Dykeman Sr.
Cecil was a truck driver for Staats Dairy Transport in Red Hook, NY. He also worked for Livingston Highway Department and Copake Transfer Station.
He was a Board Member of Livingston Cemetery Assoc.
He served with the United States Army during WW II. He obtained the ranks of Sergeant.
On November 6, 1955 in Pine Plains, NY he married Audrey (Coon) Dykeman. She survives him at home.
In addition to his loving wife Audrey, survivors include four daughters, Diana Williams (Robert) of Ancram, NY; Susan Sorbo of Amenia, NY; JoAnne Harrison of Ancram, NY; Theresa Couse (William) of Red Hook, NY; three sisters, Eleanor Carr of Wappinger Falls, NY; Loretta Marshall of Millbrook, NY; Barbara Carlson of Hyde Park, NY; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a special loving granddaughter, Melissa Roberts and son-in-law, Raymond Harrison of Pine Plains, NY..
He was predeceased by his son, Barry Dykeman on December 10, 1989.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery in Pine Plains, NY with Vicar Jackie Jefferson, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to Livingston Cemetery Assoc. PO Box 111 Livingston, NY 12541.
