Carl Deconti

Carl DeConti, 89 of Taconic Shores, Copake passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at his residence.

He was born on April 5, 1921 in Yonkers, NY the son of Vincent and Luisa (Frego) DeConti.

A part time resident of Copake since 1958 he moved here along with his family in 1983.

Mr. DeConti was employed as a meat cutter at the Washington Meat Marker in Yonkers and also by the A & P Grocery Store. Upon moving to Copake he worked as a meat cutter at the Copake General Store and later as an attendant at the Copake Transfer Station. Earlier employment included working for the Otis Elevator Company.

On May 8, 1949 in Yonkers he married Margaret (Colacurcio) DeConti.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret "Mickie" DeConti of Copake; a daughter, Lisa DeConti also of Copake and a son and daughter in law, Mark and Priscilla DeConti of Kingston, NY. He also leaves his grandchildren, Maria DeConti Nguyen of Chester, VA and James DeConti of Wappingers Falls, NY.

Friends are invited and may call on Friday January 28, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Rt. 22 in Copake, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. George Brennan will be held on Saturday January 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM from Our Lady of Hope Parish in Copake Falls, NY.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
