Brendan T. Sullivan, 78, of Pine Plains, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2024 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. He was born in Queens, New York on December 17, 1945 to the late Thomas and Elvira (McGann) Sullivan. During the Vietnam War, Brendan did 2 tours of duty with the United States Navy. He returned to the states and began working for the MTA as an electrician, eventually working his way to supervisor prior to his retirement. In 2004, he married Nancy (Seitz) Sullivan who survives him at home.
Brendan was an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, as well as the Pine Plains Lions Club and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid shooting enthusiast who truly enjoyed perfecting his skills. Fishing was also a favorite pastime. He enjoyed his morning meetings at the Moose on the Loose and will be missed. For the last twenty years he and Nancy have enjoyed traveling to Aruba and enjoying the sunshine.
Brendan is survived by his devoted wife Nancy, children, Matthew, Thomas, and Michael Sullivan, Tracey Kloss, and Jason Culver. Multiple grandchildren, his brother, Dennis Sullivan and his sister, SR. Patricia Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his son Colin Sullivan and his sister, Sheila Sullivan Brown.
A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains, NY 12567. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Brendan’s name may be made to the Pine Plains Rescue Squad or to the Odd Fellows.
