Audrey was born on August 30, 1936 in the Washington Heights section of New York City.  She was proud of her Irish heritage as the middle daughter of the late John and Rebecca (Chambers) Long, also of Copake, who were both Irish immigrants.  She spent her entire childhood and high school years growing up in Suffern, NY graduating from Suffern High School in 1955.

Audrey was an avid sports fan and there was not a day that went by when she did not talk about her beloved New York Yankees and New York Football Giants, offering either praise or criticism for the teams’ efforts on the field.
