Arnold D. "Sonny" Rothvoss

August 16, 1933 — December 2, 2015



Arnold D. "Sonny" Rothvoss, 82 of Hurley, NY and formerly of Ancramdale, NY passed away on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 16, 1933 in the Town of Ancram, NY a son of the late Arnold Rothvoss Jr. and Minnie Rothvoss Tripp.

A farmer by trade, Sonny also owned and operated his own Construction and Excavation business. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a truck driver for the Carvel Corporation.

An avid outdoorsmen he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved to travel and was most comfortable driving thru the countryside in his 1948 Chevy convertible.

Sonny was a member of the Freedom Church in Binnewater, NY.

Survivors include his beloved wife Anna M. (Sutton) Rothvoss of Hurley; his loving children, Bonnie Dykeman (Gordon) of Hudson, NY, Pamela Tamburro (Peter) of Oneida, NY, Arnold Rothvoss Jr. (Susan) of Ancramdale, NY, Kayla Coumbes of Hurley, Marietta Gardner of Hurley, Scott Coumbes of LaGrange and Kevin Saborski of Hurley. He also leaves 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and two sisters, Shirley Knox (Ernest) of Copake and Sheila Adams (Harry) of Fairfax, VA along with many extended family members.

He was pre deceased by a brother and sister in law, Robert and Linda Rothvoss.

Friends are invited and may call on Saturday December 5, 2015 from 10:00 - 1:00 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, NY.

Memorial contributions may be offered to Hospice of Ulster County, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
