Antonina G. Mirto

November 29, 1930 — July 23, 2021

Pine Plains, NY

Antonina Mirto, 90, of Pine Plains passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. She was born November 29, 1930 in Monreale, Sicily to Vincenzo and Maria (Biuso) Giordano. Antonina “Nina,” originally immigrated to the United States with her husband Giuseppe Mirto, and four children, in 1965. In the years following they operated multiple businesses in the lower Hudson Valley before relocating to Pine Plains. It was here in May of 1983, that Lia’s Mountain View was established.

Nina and Pino, with the help of their children, wanted to create a place where their love for food and family could be shared with the community. What started as a dream has turned into a legacy that has carried on through generations.

Nina is survived by her four children Nicholas Mirto, Rosalia (Paul) Cort, Maria (Courtland) Wright, and Vincenza Mirto; her beloved grandchildren Joseph (Jenna), Mackenzie (Jessica), John (Cassandra), Ariana, Marcella, Mallory, and Kaylie; and three great grandchildren Neil, Luca, and Cameran. Along with her cherished siblings Mimma, Maria, Nunzio, and Ron; nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children; cousins and friends both near and far.

She was predeceased by her husband Giuseppe Mirto, her brothers Biaggio, Salvatore, Pino, Giovanni, and most recently her younger sister (her little butterfly), Margherita.
