Annette Marie Sullivan

Annette Marie Sullivan, 83, of Copake, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 at Pine Haven Nursing Home with her loving husband by her side. She was born on July 31, 1940 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Walter and Rose (Kowalski) Rzasa. She was raised on a dairy farm and this is where her love for horses also developed. After high school, Annette graduated from St. Joseph’s College in West Hartford before becoming a chemist at Brigham and Young in Boston. She then went to work at Yale New Haven Hospital. In 1973, she married William Sullivan and together they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Annette enjoyed horseback riding, caring for her horses, gardening, sewing, and loved Elvis and the Sound of Music. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Bash Bish Falls and always made sure to treat them to candy or ice cream. She was a devout Catholic, who taught religious education, attended weekly mass and never missed a Holy day of obligation.

Annette is survived by her devoted husband, William Sullivan. Her two loving daughters, Teresa Ramia and her husband Matthew, and Ann Marie Saxby and her fiancé, David Hilbert. Her grandchildren; Matthew, Chelsea, Ethan, Julia, Melissa, Nicole, Evan and Hannah. One great grandson, Landon. In addition to her sister, Rosalie (William) Kiernan.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Kiernan.

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will  be on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:30 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm from Our Lady of Hope Parish, 8074 Route 22, Copake Falls. Interment will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Annette’s memory are requested to be made to Pine Haven Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 201 Main Street, Philmont, NY 12565.
