Stanfordville, NY - Allan Edward Kling (Al), 59, of Stanfordville passed away peacefully at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie on Sunday, November 9, 2014.
He was born on November 15, 1954 in Washington, D.C. the son of Agnes (Wheeler) Kling and the late Frederick Kling of Cornwall, CT.
A member of the Class of 1972 at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village, CT. He received his Associate's Degree in Forestry from Paul Smith's College of Forestry in Paul Smiths, NY.
Shortly after completing college he established residency in Pine Plains and moved to Salt Point when he was hired by the Cary Institute as a Groundskeeper, eventually becoming Head Groundskeeper.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors.
Al is predeceased by his Grandparents, Harry and Florence Wheeler, Sr. of Pine Plains and John and Mary Kling of Cornwall, and his father Fred Kling of Goshen, CT.
He is survived by his mother Agnes, brother and sister-in-law Steven and Karen Kling of Pensacola, FL, nieces Nicole Brabec of Falls Church, VA and Rachel Foster of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, with Deacon Jackie Jefferson officiating.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
As Al was an extremely casual person, it is requested that guests wear casual or (clean) hunting apparel to the service.
