Alfred J. Forrest Sr

Dover Plains, NY - Alfred J. Forrest Sr., 65, passed away at home on Thursday, August 8, 2013.

He was born in Middlebury, VT on December 12, 1947the son of the late Frank and Anna (Barna) Forrest.

Mr. Forrest Sr. was a Therapy Aide for Wassaic Developmental Disabilities Services in Wassaic, NY.

He was an avid bowler and loved the outdoors.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Forrest Sr. was the Chaplin and member of V.F.W. Post 5444 in Dover Plains, NY. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 178, Millerton.

Survivors include two sons, Alfred J. (AJ) Forrest Jr. of Hyde Park, NY; Mark Forrest of Dover Plains, NY; wife, Barbara Forrest of Dover Plains, NY; three grandchildren, Baylee, Tyler and Madalynn; three sisters, Beverly Bombard of Worcester, MA; Rosemary (Tommy) McGhee of Pine Plains, NY; Patrica and (Lennie) Morrison of Millerton, NY; several nieces and nephews and his dog "Blue".

Calling hours are 4 to 8 PM on Monday, August 12, at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 7749 South Main St. Pine Plains, NY 12567. The VFW will conduct services at 6:30 pm.

Funeral services are 11 AM on Tuesday, August 13th, at the funeral home with Rev. William Mayhew, officiating.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains with Full Military Honors.
