Gale K. Johnson

Gale K. Johnson, 75, of Stanfordville passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 23, 2024 at Hudson Valley Hospice House, in Hyde Park. She was born on November 2, 1948 in Oceanside, NY to the late Frank & Francis Shanley.  On January 20, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Lawrence, NY she married the late Gary Johnson. Together they shared 49 years of marriage.
 

Gale attended Marist for her undergraduate studies and then earned her Masters in social work from Fordham University. She worked for the ARC of Westchester County until her retirement. In 1983, she and Gary moved to Stanfordville. Together they enjoyed traveling, especially to the Caribbean. She also enjoyed political discussions and spending countless hours with her grandchildren. 
 

Gale is survived by her two sons, Ryan (Elisabeth Rogers) and Brendan (Deanna) Johnson. Her four grandchildren, Liam, Lilliana, Rocco and Domenica. Also, by her sister Susan Shanley.
 

In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her sister Christine Shanley. 
 

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday  at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Donations in Gale’s memory may be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice House.
